In both the hyperbolic and relatively hyperbolic settings, groups have well defined notions of boundaries. Studying these boundaries has been incredibly fruitful in the field of Geometric Group Theory. Largely, questions about boundaries have fallen into two groups. The first is questions about what the boundaries of these groups can look like, and the second is questions about what the boundaries can tell us about the groups. In this talk I plan to discuss many results in both groups of questions, as well as describe some of my thesis research and how it fits into this area.
